Heavy Ebayers-Is it safe to buy fitness equipment from ebay?

I am looking to buy a leg magic system. I'm a broke college student so I have to watch my money. They are typically $130 plus tax and shipping, unless I bought one locally. On ebay, I have found them for $10 plus $50 shipping and handling which is a little less than half the price. The sellers have high positive feedback are stating that you can buy insurance, but if anything breaks during shipping, they are not responsible. I'd rather not pay $50 for something that may end up broken, even by accident. I'd rather pay the $130 and be assured that the company will deal with problems if there are any but that would be a huge price for what I make. What would you reccomend?

  1. When buying on eBay: * make sure the seller has a very good rating (99% or more). Reliable sellers will stand behind what they sell (defects in the product, not breakage during shipping) * if it is something that can break during shipping, pay for the insurance. It's a few dollars, and the insurance will reimburse you if the item breaks * if you are really worried about breakage, then find one within driving distance and pick it up.
