What fitness equipment and plan would you recommend for this situation?
Hi, I'm a Uni student with a plan to spend at least 30mins a day on a home exercise programme (can't afford the gym). I'd like to slim down, build up my upper body muscles and trim/tone my stomach (I'm short 5' 5" if that's relevant); practically full body really. I used to ride a bike extensively for 2 years which built up my legs but its no longer convenient in the city. Ideally I'm looking for fairly inexpensive (<£100 total) equipment and a plan that will help me achieve this. So far I own a set of 15kg dumbells. Any advice including diet would be great, thanks.

- try getting some in home dvd's to help you get some ideas for workouts without the gym. It's cheaper that way too. Taebo works wonders (burns lots of calories in a short amount of time). Cut your calories to about 1300- 1500 per day and work off about an extra 300-550 calories. The rest are burned off with daily activity. Eat lots of fiber and protein to build muscle and feel full. But eat a balanced amount (food pyramid) of everything. Try multivitamins too. The lack of these can cause cravings for foods that have too much of a certain nutrient that are also unhealthy. Good luck!
