What is the best workout for losing all around pounds?

- Cardio, lots of it. Then move on to weights. The bigger muscles will burn more calories...
- Lots and LOTS of cardio: running on the treadmill, eliptical machine, biking...etc. Also, lifting some weights: increasing weights to build muscle, or keeping a steady, low weight to tone. Also, eating right plays a BIG part in losing weight. Watch your portions and the content of your food. Hope this helps!
- Cardio alongside with weight training. You need to elevate your heart rate to burn calories. Muscle burns more calories so work with the weights to increase muscle mass as the same time as doing cardio and it will give you the best calorie burn. Cardio doesn't just have to be running though...anything that elevates your heart rate and keeps it elevated will work. It's usually suggested to do weights 2-3 times a week and cardio 5 times a week. You might want to try mixing in some yoga occasionally too-it will help keep you flexible.
- Martial arts you get a good workout plus learn something that is fun and maybe helpful and you can have a goal (black belt) to work towards.
