What is that old piece of fitness equipment that straps around your waist and shakes off fat called?

Is there any science behind this machine? Is it obsolete> By the way, it's the biggest craze in China, so I was wondering if people are just being scammed.

  3. I haven't the least idea. But when My sister and I were younger we were playing around our mothers when she hit her head on it. The next day when our neighbors asked how she got a bump on her head, she said "I hit my head on my moms vibrator."
