cardio workouts? okay, im a dancer, and i usually am dancing about 6 to 8 hours a week. were getting ready for our spring concert and one of my costumes has a midriff top. and i hate to admit, ive been horrible about my diet and ive gained a lot of weight. does anybody know some advanced cardio workouts that i could do to get rid of my "extra pounds"?

For the past month atleast, I've been working out and mainly on my abs and I have seen no results and I've been told by several people to do cardio workouts and by others that I shouldn't since im very skinny and im not likely to have much body fat. By very skinny, I mean i'm about 5"8 and only 130 pounds. For the past week, I have been drinking this protein shake that contains 30mgs of protein in each drink, I usually drink about one daily. And for the past month, I have been eating good, the only bad thing I have been eating is probably pizza and drinking soda. I only have pizza maybe twice a week at most and I drink maybe 2-3 sodas a week. I drink alot of water, I sometimes drink smoothies in the morning while having a big breakfest. Anyways, my diet isnt the best in world nor is it the worst. So why haven't I gained much abdominal muscle? If its because of not doing cardio, then what type of cardio should I do? I have this machine thats similiar to those stair machines.

The problem is though, when I start running, it doesn't take long for my legs(thighs and calves) to tire out. This is bad especially since it prevents me from maintaining a good heart rate. Better to do interval or stready cardio workouts? I currently do intervals for 30 minutes. I read in a fitness magazine that I should start off going 2.5 mph for 5 minutes, then work my way to 4.0, 4.5., and 5 for a minute each. Then repeat. Cardio. different Cardio workouts each time i workout.? I'm new to exercising, I was always thin, but recently just gained 30lbs in the last 2 years by adopting bad eating habits and not being as active as I use to be, I've changed my eating habits to low cal and watching my carb intake but I'm so lost at the gym, I dont know what machines to do and start to feel confused and then dont go for wks. And I dont know what machine is better, treadmill for walking, ellipitical or the Bike, would it be good to swap out workouts, like one day walk for 45 min then the next workout do the ellipitical for 45 min and keep switching, or should i pick one and stay dedicated to it, its just right now, they are hard to stick to w/ me being new to exercise and so out of shape, I just want to get this weight off in the next 4 months or so and dont want to waste time by not doing cardio the right way, thank you

don't do cardio workouts???? has anyone heard about the book that just came out that says not to do cardio workouts? i didn't catch the name, but he's a trainer for the "stars" and says to do weight lifting 1 hour a week and it'll boost ur metabolism. the key is too workouts that incorporate more than 1 muscle group at one time.... ie.... using a band, do squats and lift the band over ur head at the same time. anyone know of this?

A question about cardio workouts.? I've been stepping up my cardio workouts lately and a friend told me I should layer clothes (2 pairs of sweat pants, 3 shirts, etc) and that it'll help to burn more calories. Now I do notice a difference in the amount of weight I'm losing, but I'm not sure if this is accurate. On one hand I think that all I'm doing is losing water weight, essentially making no real progress. On the other hand I could see how making your core temperature hotter would force your body to burn more calories to try to control your body temperature. Can someone let me know if there is any advantage to this, or if it is indeed just water weight?
temporary deafness after intense cardio workouts? Several times over the last year I have experienced short term deafness in one year, lasting a few minutes to 15 minutes after hard cardio workouts i.e. running sprints. Anyone experience the same? There's no ringing i.e. tinnitus, but similar to having your head submerged in water.

How long until I see results from cardio workouts? I have been going to the gym for three weeks now (5-6 days/week). I am 6' tall and 183 pound male. not overweight just want to lose a little belly fat and tone. I am using a bike for cardio exercise for about 40-50 mins everyday I go(it says I am burning 750-850 calories per ride. during the bike workout i have kept my heart rate at about 154-168 bpm. I have probably been eating about 1500-2000 calories a day. I also have been weight training each day after cardio (upper and lower body everyother day) I have been doing this for three weeks now and have been having quality hard workouts and not cutting any corners, but have not been able to notice any results yet. how long until I start to notice visually? I don't care about what the scale reads I understand i am probably building muscle to. but so far no change. is it okay to do two different cardio workouts in one day? okay my workout plan is in the morning walk for a hour then about 3pm i do low intensity cardio and strength training then about 6 pm i do taebo is that okay
Doing cardio workouts? Okay im kind of thin but have muscle.. i tried strengh training but that just caused me to have muscle pain and stinfess for 3 months now.. so forgot it.. if i eat lots of protien and good food that help you grow stronger and bigger and do cardio like {speed running or jumping} will i get bigger and more toned? because i heard if eat alot of protien and foods like that and do cardio all the nutrients will get pumped through the body there making you bigger.. is that why people who eat alot and are fat but do exerice still dont get thin? its all on the diet huh?
Cardio workouts and Tachycardia? I have been working out including doing some cardio and I have Inappropriate Sinustachycardia (fast heartrate) I am not on any medication for it and wont be able to go back to the doctor for a few more monthes. Cardio workouts and burning fat on stomach? i have about 3 months to lose the fat layer around my stomach. i know i have a toned 6 pack underneath the fatty layer because its rock hard, and i can definitely feel it. how much cardio should i do a day to lose this fatty layer, so i get a toned 6 pack before june 5th? what other things can i do to lose the fatty layer? im not anorexic, nor fat. in the middle. i want to lose about 1/2-1 inch layer of fat around my stomach.?

I have 2 sprained ankles, any cardio workouts I could do w/o using my legs? Help! I have a question on doing a diet which lowers carb intake and increase protein/good fat. More like a 30% carb/50% protein/20% fat breakdown. I'm aiming to lose 1.5-2lbs per week with a 800-1000 calorie deficit per day. I also take GNC MegaMan Sport and also about 5g of glutamine. Will this type of diet minimize muscle loss during "cutting phase" (fat loss)? Or is muscle loss inevitable? If it does, is there a better way to tone down while keeping muscle? I'm thinking of switching to this diet/workout for a month and going back to regular diet with intense workouts. I will also increase glutamine intake to 10-13gs during the cutting phase.

Good cardio workouts for weight loss? I am trying to get more fit and loose weight but I need to find a good workout plan for me. I just got a membership at the gym. I don't know much about weight lifting...or working out in general. I do know that I love the treadmill and recumberant [sp??] bikes. 2 cardio workouts a day? i know your supposed to keep your heartrate in the target zone for at least 30 min or more for it to have any benefit which i do. but occasionally my kids interrupt me after 30 min and i have to stop and do my 2nd 30 min later on in the day. am i still getting the full benefit of an hour workout even though its broken up into 2 sessions? my main concern is fat burning. i work out at around 60-70% of max heartrate.
Hungry after cardio workouts!!? I work out on an elliptical trainer for about 45 mins 4x's a week and its usually aroung 6 pm everyday so I will eat dinner before I work out so I wont be so hungry afterward, but im still hungry after my workout. I just wanna snack.. Please help!

How do you do cardio workouts without...? making your calves big and muscular? My friend runs a lot and her calves are thick and muscular and she's not overweigt, she's actually underweight.
