Fitness Equipment knowledge base
What are the typical markups for fitness equipment? I am looking to sell yoga and pilates fitness equipment and would like to know if anyone knows the markup on these items (mats, stability balls, soft weights, pilates rings etc) and also where a good distributor is for these products?
What fitness equipment is best to own? I am interested in buying either an elliptical bike or cross trainer or a treadmill. I am wondering which one will give me the best results and which brands are good? Also if you have rented a piece of fitness equipment before was it worth it compared to buying it straight out? I want to lose weight, improve fitness and tone muscles. I can't go out walking , jogging etc as I have 3 young children. Need something I can do at home.
fitness equipment? I am focused and can workout outside of a gym. Gyms are really expensive in my area. I already run often I am looking to add some equipment to workout on that is fairly portable and small. Suggestions? I am looking for a specefic product or something. It cant be big and bulky . I live in an apt.
What is a great piece of fitness equipment for an amateur? I am looking for in home equipment for cardio. I have never owned a piece of gym equipment. I am on a budget and definately don't want a treadmill. I have quite a bit of weight to lose and am in my twenties. What would be good for me? An Elliptical, Stair Climber, what else? Also, what is a good brand to look for that is not overly expensive?
What home fitness equipment offers the best results? I want to purchase a single piece of workout equipment that offers aerobic activity but will also tone muscle. I want to burn fat and calories and tone my muscles without bulking up. I have been running on a treadmill in our apartment complex gym, and love the results. But I was wondering if something like an elliptical machine would offer the same results or better without the wear and tear on my body caused by running?
How do you know what is the best type of fitness equipment and the best place to buy it from? I like the bowflex commercials and so forth for example. Plus the pilates gym stuff looks good and then the treadmill or cycles look good. I see them for sale everywhere! Qvc has some of the same products as advertised on the products own webpage for example. So where is the best place or store to buy equipment from? I see many at Wal-Mart, Sears, online... everywhere. I want one for strength training/toning and one for cardio. I don't want to spend a fortune, but I want to invest in something that will last and give me good results.
How do you clean home fitness equipment? I have a recumbent stationary bike for home use, and it stinks! There is no removable parts to wash. I assume the smell is in the seat and back and the grip things on the handles, but dont know what to do to remove it.
What is the best home fitness equipment to purchase for daily use? I'd like something that i can actually get a work out with while whatching my favorite shows. I want something decent and not an outragous price. Main thing i want something i can stick to and that will give me a workout. I'm female so i'm looking to work out the lower part of the body more then anything!
What work out video/show or fitness equipment would you recommend? We're getting ready to attend a wedding in April and we're trying to slim down a bit, especially around the waist/abs. We've got two little boys, so going to the gym is out right now. Is there anything you can recommend that isn't too time consuming and produces results?
Does Weight Watchers have fitness equipment? I am looking to lose a signifigant amount of weight and heard that Weight Watchers works very well. But I need a place that I can work out and I can't find anything on their website about a fitness area. I don't want to put my money into something that just tells me how to eat! I don't need a lecture just serious answers!
Where can I sell my fitness equipment? I have 14 toning tables that I would like to get rid of. I have been looking for a place to list or sell them to and get a good price. Ebay is a not a good site, the other tables do not sell that are listed on there. Is there any other good place?
Would anyone know anything about this piece of fitness equipment? ...It is called a Strength trainer ST 150...It has a pull down, bench press, butterfly, leg attatchment etc etc... It has everything built in and you add the plates to up the weight... I am wondering if it is a good unit for strength training, and if it is worth the asking price of $180.00 Thanks Maybe i was not very clear..I was just wondering if this machine is a good machine. I realize free weights yield better results and combining machines and weights is the best. Anyone know of this machine?
why does the equipment in a fitness studio need electricity? Is there a good reason the person using it can't produce the electricity via a small electrical generator? Why can't users of a fitness studio through their activity not produce enough electricity to run the electrics for the whole building? Or at least of the piece of equipment one is using?
what is the name of the fitness equipment that sends pulses of electricity thru muscles at regular intervals? hi i borrowed some fitness equipment from a friend some time ago (who has now thrown it out), it has two electrodes that stick to the selected muscle and then sends small regular pulses of electricity thru the muscle to tone and strengthen it. thanx for your answers, the reasoon i want it is because about 2 months ago i hurt my knee, i went to a physio who used one (as well as other equipment and massage) to strengthen the quad and calf muscles so my knee wouldnt come out of place.
Anyone tried the cheap fitness equipment + dvd from Tescos? I went a bit crazy and bought the weighted ball one and the giant elastic band one last night, £9 each - not bad with dvd! I haven't tried them yet but i was wondering if anyone had tried them, or others, and if they actually gave them a good work out and had good results re fitness and toning? Thanks
What is the name of this piece of fitness equipment? This is really bugging me. I had one of these a while back and got rid of it, but would like to get it back again. It was an arm trainer. A long tube like thing with a handle and you had to push and pull the tube in and out and it built strength in your arms. It was electronic (battery powered). Its not the bullworker...
Need recommendations for fitness equipment: yoga, pilates, stretching? I want to install a small home gym in a 9.5 x 11.5 room (8' ceiling) on my second floor. The purpose of this is two-fold: I need to lose weight, and I need to regain strength and flexibility. I was thinking of installing a ballet bar or parallel bars and buying a new or used Total Gym (for pilates). What do you all think? Anyone have experience with Total Gym? Any recommendations on an alternative piece of equipment?
Online tutorial for fitness equipment? Hi! Tomorrow I have a job interview as a recreation aid. I have worked out continuously for three years up until last year. I got married, and well, didn't have the time. I was just curious if there are any on-line tutorials or orientations to get me reacquainted with fitness equipment typically used in a fitness center. I would like to possibly review it tonight or tomorrow, but any advice is appreciated. Thank you so much in advance!
Where can I get this piece of home fitness equipment?`? Many years ago - many, many years ago - there was this home fitness thing that was basically a spring inside of a telescoping rod, with handles on both ends (so it could be pushed shut against resistance), and it had cables between the handles (so when you pulled the cables apart, the telescoping rod pushed in on itself, again providing resistance). You could, for example, hold it like a bow-and-arrow, and pull on the cables for resistance. Like this: /~~~~~~\ (------====) \~~~~~~/ Bad representation. I don't even remember what it was called, but it was very useful. Does anyone know what it is called, adn if they are sold anyhmore? I cannot even look on eBay, since I don't know what it's called (and "fitness thing" doesn't seem to work well.)
I'm looking to better myself fitness wise, what equipment is best? I have a maximum of $200 right now. I'm not looking for really anything muscle building, but more fat and calorie burning. I'm kinda pudgy, so any ideas on equipment that could be useful. I can stick to a workout plan if it involves that and i do run but that gets boring sometimes.
How do I start a realistic fitness program with the limited equipment at my apartment building's gym? All my gym has is: One leg press machine One bench press machine that can be adjusted to do a shoulder press. One Lat pulldown machine that also has a bottom pulley for lat rows. One stationary bike One elliptical thing One treadmill That's it. No freeweights. How do I get started with a good strength training/fitness program that doesn't suck, using just these resources, that I can stick with? What should the program consist of? How many times a week? How many reps? How do I adjust the program as I get fitter? If it matters, I'm male, 30, 6'1", and 185 pounds of flab. I can do about 10 pushups and 1 pullup. resting pulse 76 bpm.
Fitness Equipment? Does anyone own the gazelle glider, made by Tony Little and if so where did you purchase it in Canada preferably.also has anyone seen any weight lose over time of using this piece of equipment.

Good fitness equipment for someone with limited space? I would love to invest in some fitness equipment, but I don't have a lot of space to store anything... I'd love to get a bike to ride in the summer and a trainer to mount it on in the winter, but thats the only thing that I can think of that I can store easily... (bike outside, trainer in a closet or something till I'm ready to use it) I've seen a commercial, and if I'm thinking correctly, its the Bowflex Treadclimber, that folds up for easier storage... I'd love to get one of these, but its definitely not in my price range at this point in my life...Does anyone have any experience with any good, EFFECTIVE exercise equipment that doesn't take up a lot of room? Well, I live in a small town and have to drive 45 minutes to get to a gym... I just want something to use for good cardio besides a treadmill...
Fitness Equipment Repair Training? My Mother and her Husband Bought a Fitness Center and I Need training to repair their equipment, is there an Online Class or any school in northern Michigan?
Name of fitness equipment? What is the name of the fitness equipment that looks sorta like this: www.robbinssports.com/sporting-goods-store/images/powerline_fitness_PFID30W_flat_incline_decline_bench.jpg It looks sort of like an AB bench, but its flat and you can put your feet on the end thing and move your legs up and down for leg weight loss. Anyone know what they're called?
Anyone have any knowledge or experience with elliptical fitness equipment? My treadmill that I used for 30 minutes a day has finally given out. It did a very good job of toning my legs and butt area. Now, I want to go a step further and start toning my arms also. I'm looking at elliptical fitness equipment. I'm not in great physical shape but I have developed an endurance. I am able to walk at a fast pace for thirty minutes. Would an elliptical trainer be a bit to much for someone like me? I've been looking at a Norditrack. Ive read if you're going to buy one you want a good one. What do you think?

Calories burned on Fitness Equipment? How accurate are the counted calories burned on fitness machines such as the treadmill and elliptical? I know that a heart rate monitor would be more efficient in telling you how many calories you have burned while working out, but if I don't have one what are my options?

Any fitness equipment rowing advice? I am big into fitness and weight training but i need cardio. I have a stationary bike that that just works out my legs. I could run but the neighborhood insnt the best. I heard rowers work out the entire body and its not expensive unlike a treadmill. There is this rower called Spartan Sports Full Motion Rower. Its cheap and really all i can afford for a 16 year old who works 2 days a week. I couldn't find any reviews for the rower but I was wondering if anyone would not about this rower or if it looks good enough. Thanks!
What fitness equipment and plan would you recommend for this situation? Hi, I'm a Uni student with a plan to spend at least 30mins a day on a home exercise programme (can't afford the gym). I'd like to slim down, build up my upper body muscles and trim/tone my stomach (I'm short 5' 5" if that's relevant); practically full body really. I used to ride a bike extensively for 2 years which built up my legs but its no longer convenient in the city. Ideally I'm looking for fairly inexpensive (<£100 total) equipment and a plan that will help me achieve this. So far I own a set of 15kg dumbells. Any advice including diet would be great, thanks.
Launching a Fitness Equipment in India..Help..?? I am faced with a task of launching a fitness product (Slendertone) in India. I want to know what all i can do in segmentation, marketing, distribution, PR and promotion. Who are the target market in India.? Any help appreciated.
Can I rent fitness equipment? I want to get a stationary bike but I am like most people in that I don't want to make a huge investment in something that might just be a clothing hangar in a few years (granted a bike may only be a couple of hundred dollars but that's still out of my budget right now). Is it possible to rent a stationary bike or other equipment for my home for a period of time?
Effective Fitness Equipment? I've been looking into exercise machines such as the Red XL Exerciser and was wonder if there were any product simlar to this with similar benifits that are a bit cheaper.
I'm looking for good fitness equipment.? i've looked on a number of different website, but i'm not really sure what the better brands are or the reasonable prices. Can anyone help me out? Anyone have a particular tredmill or eliptical they like?

Best brand of fitness equipment...? I'm looking to set up a home gym in my basement, but I have no idea what the best brands are. I'm thinking about getting a universal set, plus a treadmill. I've seen lots of "Weider" home gyms on craigslist but one of my friends at the gym told me to avoid that brand at all costs. He did recommend "Bowflex". Any recommendations? Thanks in advance.
Heavy Ebayers-Is it safe to buy fitness equipment from ebay? I am looking to buy a leg magic system. I'm a broke college student so I have to watch my money. They are typically $130 plus tax and shipping, unless I bought one locally. On ebay, I have found them for $10 plus $50 shipping and handling which is a little less than half the price. The sellers have high positive feedback are stating that you can buy insurance, but if anything breaks during shipping, they are not responsible. I'd rather not pay $50 for something that may end up broken, even by accident. I'd rather pay the $130 and be assured that the company will deal with problems if there are any but that would be a huge price for what I make. What would you reccomend?
